Henriette:To achieve the height, volume and length in some cases, it seems, the crown princess adds hair piece(s)--do you know whether that is the case? Some of her updos are so intricate, it difficult to just look at the photo and to guess how it was achieved. Perhaps that is a testament to the thought that goes into creating them? Thanks in advance for your answer.RW
Thanks for your answer, RW! I'm certain that different hair pieces are used to create both volume and length. Her hairstyles are always very complex and takes good eyes to figure out how it's made. I once read that Søren Hedegaard, her hairdresser, is inspired by other royal women's hair, old books and pictures when finding out how to make Mary's for a big event. I can't say for sure when or which specific pieces are used, but some of her looks would be impossible to makes without a ''little cheating'' ;)
Thanks Henriette. Her hairdresser is quite the creative genius when it comes to hair styles especially, updos. I don't view the adding of hair pieces as cheating. Rather, it is giving the artist the ability to create styles that are more than the average. In addition, I am also guessing that its less stress on the crown princess's hair because of not having to add heat and pulling, tugging and teasing of the hair which tends to cause breakage. With the number of engagements these royal women attend, having to style the hair ever time, most would have no hair left because of damage. Granted, the crown princess has reasonable thick hair, but overuse of styling tools, gels, sprays etc. can be a detriment to any hair. Therefore, hair pieces and even wigs are a godsend. Thanks again for this wonderful forum where one can indulge in the more frivolous side of royal-watching.RW.
For sure he is! Søren Hedegaard, her hairdresser and makeup artist, is talented beyond limits. I am always impressed of his creative and innovative hairstyles. Impressive how he manages to create styles that are both chic yet very feminine and elegant. Her hair is exposed to many different styles all the time which means lots of extra care. Though Mary's hair is constantly styled using products, heat etc. it's always well groomed! Thank you for always sharing what's on your mind with all of us.
You are welcome. By the way, this area of your blog is one which I visit often. I like how you have compartmentalize the crown princess's style so that one can view each area separately. I like looking at & for the details!Keep up the good work!RW.
Amazing to hear! Since I decided to make these galleries, I wondered if anyone actually sees them? -but I guess they do ;) Also a great way for me to share old photos of her, which I love. If you have ideas for new galleries, feel free to share them with me.
Henriette:Galleries for casual outfits, especially jeans--I love how she styles those looks with blouses that have an extra something. Also, an accessory women everywhere use and must have a variety to chose from--those would be scarves. The crown princess uses them quite often and to good effect. Having galleries for the above-mentioned would be fantastic.Thank you for all you do.RegardsRW.
Some really really good ideas for new galleries!! I would love to do a few more galleries, for awhile actually, but I had no ideas what the topic should be. Now I know ;) -Casual everyday outfits and something with scarfs -noted!
Great! Thank you.RW.
