Day 2. Official state visit to Japan

Monday, October 9th

-Kanazawa-
As part of a five days official state visit to Japan the Danish Crown Prince couple visited Kanazawa. They drove the 500 km from Tokyo to Kanazawa in the Japanese high speed train 'Shinkansen'. So, it all started with a train ride around noon. The first event on a rather long list, was a lunch at the restaurant 'Tsubajin' hosted by the Deputy Mayor Dazio Hosada and Kanazawa City; all to welcome the Crown Prince couple to Japan. After a nice lunch, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were given a guided tour in the Kenrokuen -one of three Japanese plant gardens, here. So, if you are every going to visit Kanazawa in Japan, I think this is the place to go. Since we got the first glimpse of the couple during their second day in Japan, I think we have seen two very committed and smily Crown Prince and Crown Princess. I can't get enough of these official visits. Well, enough about sentimental me because I also need to tell that the Danish couple visited the exhibition Everyday Life -Signs of Awareness at 21st Century Museum for Contemporary Art. Over 130 pieces of Danish designs are exhibited. Here they were given another guided tour -two in one day, were they also got the chance to speak with several Japanese and Danish designers. The Crown Prince also gave a speech followed by the presentation of five scholarships given to Japanese artists who are about to study in Denmark.

Looking absolutely stunning in a brand new white dress, I believe Mary amazed all of us. Am I right? Everywhere I have been able to get a glimpse of a comment I have only seen positive ones. Everyone seems to adore Mary in this new Temperley London dress. And it got some brilliant details that makes one look twice and discover new details all the time. You are no the only one loving this dress. So do I. It was identified by one of the girls at UFO No More, here. She styled it beautifully by wearing new baby blue pumps from Gianvito Rossi and a pair of aquamarine blue earrings designed by Diane von Furstenberg for H. Stern. These are not new but worn at several other occasions. She had chosen jewellery from Orit Elhanati, Dulong Fine Jewelry, Cartier and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. We also got to see her new sunglasses, which I strongly believe is from Dolce & Gabbana. A very classy 50s inspired look with the full-skirt dress, feminine hairstyle and leopard shades. Love how they both matched each other in a 50s vibe. Another resemblance that comes to my mind, is Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. She could differently wear something similar to what Mary was wearing during the day in Kanazawa, here, here, here. Did you notice she's wearing a white orchid in her hair? What an incredible detail. White orchids are told to be symbol of humility, luxury and purity.
