Private visit to Greenland

A few pictures were taken when Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrived to Greenland by plain a few days ago for a private visit. According to Billed Bladet they'll soon be back in Denmark. Among other things the couple are going on a dog sled on the ice cap one of the days. At  the arrival both were dressed in warm jackets, Mary ind long Moncler, and boots. Natural and acting like a usual couple.

Breake the Silence Charity Ball 2015

Friday, April 24

Last friday Crown Princess Mary unofficial and, almost unnoticed, attended the charity event Break the Silence (Bryd Tavsheden) Charity Ball 2015. According to Frederiketmary DKK 1.6 million were collected to the project, well done!

Hartmanns made a special zipper bracelet gold and silver that was sold that night, to collect money to the Break the Silence project.

What is Break the Silence (Bryd Tavsheden)?
The organization was founded back in 2002. Break the Silence is about volunteer work and are therefore dependent on subsidies that's way the charity ball was so important. They try to prevent violence in families and couples by among others campaigns. Read much more about their great work here 1

This is all about the organizations great work and I'm pleased that we have such organizations in Denmark who wants to help which also makes me happy that Mary actually is involved in such projects. It's important to me to focus on the huge job she do and show that she really help many people who need it. It's a part of her and Styleofmary. As I introduced this post with, Mary also came unnoticed but she is the Crown Princess of Denmark so of course people noticed her in her old black Prada (Autumn/Winter 2005/2006) dress and high messy bun updo. Earrings was a pair from Marianne Dulong with orange pendants and might be a new Carlend Copenhagen clutch in a matching color.

260 Years with Hotel d'Angleterre!

Saturday, April 25

When you say Hotel d'Angleterre to a Dane, they immediately think of the most prestigious hotel in Denmark. This is the hotel all the big stars are living when they are in Denmark. This year d'Angleterre celebrates its 260 years anniversary and it was done with a huge gala dinner. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mart were invited as guest of honor.

A little story about Hotel a'Angleterre
It's one of four five star hotels in Copenhagen, placed at Kongens Nytorv. The hotel has its history back to 1755 when it was built by Jean Maréchal. The hotel have 90 rooms today and it was all renovated back in 2011. Guests as Winston Churchill, Oprah Winfrey, Grace Kelly and Michael Jackson have all stayed at the hotel.

Dressed in the most amazing gown from Ole Yde with beadwork, layers of tulle and glamorous curls Mary looked like a real movie star next to her husband who was in a classic black and white suit! The Ole Yde gown is from a 2013 Fall/Winter collection and I'm amazed by it... Every little detail I love so much. It shows the amazing skills of Yde's creativity. I was so sure Valentino was the designer and was pretty surprised when a reader sent me information and pictures of the dress from a Danish designer. This is really great work! The gown shows her slim figure and embrace her curves. Tulle skirts are often a symbol of a real Princesses' dress and the black color made it extremely modern with ones thought running back to the Disney fairy tale dresses. My only word, is: stunning!

The style of the dress and her hair reminds me of the glamorous 50s with their Hollywood curled hair and red lips. Which makes me think, why not any red lipstick? It would have made the look even more beautiful. I assume that she could be wearing her black satin Prada pumps. Hope that I'll be able to show a picture of her soon. Another things to notice is that she's wearing purple nail polish!

Saturday, April 25

Crown Princess Mary attended the ANZAC day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) in Kastellet, Copenhagen. This year all those who fought in World War 1, the battle at Gallipoli in Turkey 1915th, now 100 years ago.

What is ANZAC day all about?
First of all; ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. It's one day, on April 25th,  each year that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war or any kind of conflict are honored. Read more here.

I am pleased to see that Mary attend a ceremony like this, she shows the dead one last honor. Our past is helping to create the future. Therefore, it is important to remember what once happened. The men who served and died in the war deserves to be honored. I think it's important to remember how much our ancestors have helped to create the world we live in now. There's much to thank them for.

... Let's make one minutes of silence to honor them

A day like this, the important thing is not what she's wearing. Still I'll make a shot comment. Mary was very presentable dressed in a blue dress with a black jacket. Bev made me aware that she has worn it twice before, at One Europe-One Market 2012 and An Open World 2013. It makes more sense if you just take a look at it, then if I have to describe it to you. Her head was dressed with a black Susanne Juul hat, caring a black Carlend Copenhagen clutch and her beloved SAND pumps. On her chest she wore a special brooch made by Australian jewellery designer Sylvia Dimasi. Read more about the brooch here. Also used as a ring.

Our Crown Princess Mary Obsession # 4

I have been looking so much forward to this specific post! About one or two years ago this lovely woman wrote an email to me and told me about her fantastic Crown Princess Mary hobby. She is actually the main reason why I had the idea of make these ‘obsession-posts’ and I’m so exited to show what her hobby is – I assure, you’ll love it! Since the first drawing she sent me, I’ve been so overwhelmed by her skills and I can’t simply stop staring at them. Now you might guessed what Inge are doing as her CP Mary hobby/obession. I’ll let her introsuce herself:

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Inge and I’m 65 years old and a retired preschool teacher. I have been a royalista since childhood. I have attended King Frederik’s (Queen Margrethe’s father) birthday celebration at Amalienborg serveral times either with my parent or the school I was working for.”

Because of this early royal interest she started collection pictures of Margrethe when she still had the titel ‘Princess’: “During my school years I collcted photos of Princess Margrethe. The photos were collected in a scarpbook together with photos of Cliff Richard (singer) and Michael Landon (actor). To this day, I still have these scrapbooks.”

The story goes on and Inge tells that when Frederik was born she found interest in this little new Prince: “When Crown Princess Frederik was born, I followed the familiy and especially his troubled childhood came to be a thing I had specially in mind.” Princess Mary now starts to be a part of Frederik’s life and Inge comment on this ‘love-of-his-life by saying: “We were all able to read about his love affair in the magazines. I, myself, had a theory of him being involved with a girl from either the Faroe Islands or perhaps Greenland.” Of course we now all know that there was a specific girl that had his interst, the Australian born Mary Elizabeth Donaldson. “… I was immediately convinced that she was the right girl for him!” says Inge.

One thing that caught my attention about Inge and her amazing hobby, is: why did this hobby ever began? Myself I love to be creative and make all kind of things that includes drawings, painting, sawing etc. but why make drawings of the future Queen’s clothes? Well, read what she answered to that question: “At their wedding, I was working on sketches of the wedding dress. These were mean to be cut-out doll’s for the children I was working with. Afterwards I continued designing Mary’s wardrobe for the paper dolls, based on her actually outfits.”

Actually, it’s not only Crown Princess Mary she made clothes for also her husband, now Crown Princess Frederik, was made as a doll: “A male doll was made to work as Crown Princess Frederik’s wardrobe.” The hobby didn’t stop there because them Prince Chirstian was born he also became a subject for her work and “…when Princess Isabella was bron, the children at the scholl asked me to do her wardrobe as well.”

I’m so impressed by the way she works with the right colors, shapes and details on the dresses!
Due to a logn period with stress and depression my creative work was temporarily set aside. When I retired and regained my confidence, I returned to my work with the paper dolls…” Luckily! “My main focus has always been on Mary and her wardrobe. Now I draw for pure pleasure and it’s a great pastime activity!”

She even make a statement about my blog!: “Styleofmary and Henriette helped me to collect photos of Mary’s outfit, she has been wearing during me time also away from sketching. Even my less sharp photos from old magazines, she was able to find again” Here I need to say: I was more then happy to help! This also goes to everybody else, if you ever need answers with something that relates to Mary, feel free to ask and I’ll do what I can to give you an answer.

I know this from myself, when you start collection Mary-stuff you’ll very quickly get lots of folder, magazines etc. in every space it’s possible to place them. Inge might know what I’m talking about: “I now have three complete folder with evening gown, casual dresses, suits, skirts, pants, jackets, coats, ponchos, fur coats, hats as well as special outfits from for instance Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the military.”

My final question to Inge will be: Do you continue your CP Mary hobby? “Whether I’ll continue to draw Mary’s outfits or not, I don’t know yet. For the time being, I truly enjoyed it and find it relaxing. Even the complicated patterns and designs I find a certain joy in and takes it as a challenge. At times, I have entertained the idea of sending several pages filled with dolls and outfits to Princess Isabella on her birthday when she was old enough. she has now reached that age but I’m still in a doubt. after all, I’m still just an enthusiastic amateur.” I really hope you desice to send your wonderful dolls to Princess Isabella, I’m sure she’ll be thrilled to see herself as a paper doll with all her own clothes! Thanks Inge for being a pair of Styleofmary with your great work and to give the time to share your story with all of us! And if there is someone out there just started reading Styleofmary or regret you haven't already share you story; you are more then welcome to do it. It's not too late ;)

Day of Research 2015

Thursday, April 23

Once again Crown Princess Mary, as patron, attended the opening of Day of Research (Forskningens Døgn). Additionally presented Crown Princess Mary the Research Communication Award which went to Professor and Dr. Lars Østergård, who has been researching in infectious diseases.

What is Day of Research?
It's a research-festival and the vision with a day like this is to raise awareness and interest of the importance the research have on our society and daily life. The festival give you the opportunity to get close to the important and exciting work with all kind of research.

Lately I noticed that many of the Royal around the world are using red and finally we also get to see Mary wearing the a shade of red. Often se uses it as lipstick, nail polish or other accessories. To me the dress looks new and it is. Kate was lucky to actually find the designer go the new dress: Goat. A new designer for Mary. Besides the fuchsia dress I noticed in all the articles that she was really excited to be there and see all the work. She also participated in many of the projects and asked lots of questions to the activities she was shown. By the way her dress matched the Day of Research sign, well chosen!

With a little help from my great colleagues at Royalista there's no doubt that she is wearing her beige patent pumps from Christian Louboutin. In the same red color as the dress she carried a Carlend Copenhagen clutch under her arm. On the opposite arm she wore a black sea pearl bracelet, with matching earrings, from Marianne Dulong.

10 Years with the Maternity Foundations

Wednesday, April 22

Back in 2010 Crown Princess Mary became the patron of the Maternity Foundation, four years later she receives the Bambi Charity Award for her social commitment. This year, 2015, she attended the 10 years anniversary of the foundation. At the same time the Fund launched a new app called The Safe Delivery App.

What is the Maternity Foundation?
The Maternity Foundation working to save mothers and newborn children's lives. The foundations vision is 'It may not cost life to give life' (Det må ikke koste liv at give liv). They work to improve mother's and newborn's survival and health. Read more about their impressive work here and help support the foundation.

The first thing I noticed when I saw the pictures of Mary was her amazing smile, she was smiling all the time when she participated in the anniversary. The last few years she has ben working more and more to improve women and children's health all around the world and I think this day was great to her because it shows that the job they do really matter. And the lunch of the new app indicates that they foundation is in a good development.

Without taking the focus from the project, Mary was dressed in a old white/black floral blouse from Zara. You might remember it when she wore it at the first official pictures of the twins. She had chosen to match it with a pair of high-waisted dress-pants. Have we seen them before? The shoes  might be SAND and the black crocodile clutch is from Carlend Copenhagen. My guess is that the quite large bracelet is from the amazing jewelry brand Monies. Their jewelry are very characteristic in size, shape and design. The Dutch Queen Máxima is also a huge fan of these necklaces such as bracelets. Not sure you noticed them but she is wearing Ole Lynggaard (Forest collection) earrings. Love that she finished the outfit with a simple and easily made ponytail.

The Mary Foundation is Working with Loneliness

This week Danish Radio (DR Danmarks Radio) focus on loneliness among the Danes. Over 200.000 people in Denmark lives in isolation and over the last few years is has become a bigger problem. As you The Mary Foundation works with this subject through the project Netwerk. DR had an interview  (in Danish) with Crown Princess Mary. See it here and here. The interview was made after she, Monday the 20th, visited Falkonergårdens Gymnasium. They have taken part in the Netwerk project - made in collaboration with Ventilen and the Mary Foundation.  Mary expressed how important it is to show attention to those around us and do something about the problem. And not at least talk about it. Social isolation is a problem that affect both children, young people and adults.

It's great to see Mary use her titel and position as Crown Princess to help others and make the world aware of issues we can't fight alone.

Congratulation to Princess Isabella with the 8 years, Styleofmary wishes her all the best and a Happy Birthday!

With Mom at Work

Sunday, April 19

As any normal mother, Crown Princess Mary brought three of her four children with her at work. Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine attended with their mom the opening of Organic Day (Økodag 2015). It all took place on Bækkenstoft, Kirke Hyllinge.

To you who would like to read a bit more about the day, I give you this link here.

All four children had so much fun and loved to see all the cows, they were also serveral activities in which all four kids attended, At 12:00 pm. local time, Mary cut the ribbon to official open of the Organic Day 2015 that also celebrated its 25th anniversary.

What color symbolize one with ecology? Right green. So it was very appropriate that Mary wore a moss green Ralph Lauren (Blue Label Collection) blazer as we looked at her when they all four visited Greenland in 2014. The blazer has also been seen on Kate. Sometimes I'm wrong, I was sure that the white peplum blouse was from Rosemunde Copenhagen, your eyes saw something else which turns out to b right. The white lace peplum is from Zara. The blouse is a reuse, we saw her wearing it a few years ago when she visited New York (2013).To me her chelsea ankle boots looks new. Personally I enjoyed to see Mary with her kids, well I always do. Sometimes we just miss to see that act absolutely normal, like we did at the Organic Day. Great to see!

Congratulations Queen Margrethe!

Thursday, April 16

Styleofmary wishes Denmark's one and only Queen Margrethe congratulations with the 75 years birthday!!

~~~ * ~~~
Waking up at Fredensborg Palace * * * *
Her day started at 8:30 am. local time with friends and family following the tradition to wake the Queen up with music and song. On a very windy morning did the family arrive to Fredensborg Palace to wake the Queen this morning. Wearing a grey poncho, a purple blouse with long sleeves, black pants and a new pair of shiny ankle boots with a low heel. I'm pretty sure they are from Gianvito Rossi. After, Queen Margrethe was driven to Amalienborg Palace.
On the balcony of Amalienborg Palace with the family * * * *
At 12:00 pm. local time, her and the family stepped out on the balcony to wave to the Danish people. On her right side; the Crown Prince couple with their four kids and on the left side; Prince Joachim and Princess Marie with their kids. Three times she stepped out on the balcony; first on her own, second with the entire family and third her two sons. When she and her family stepped out on the balcony she had changed to her midnight blue Oscar de la Renta jacket with stones around the neck and grey Gianvito Rossi pumps. Her two princesses, Isabella and Josephine wore similar dresses from Pili Carrera, in the same blue color as Mary!
Carriage ride from Amalienborg Palace to Copenhagen City Hall * * *
On the carriage ride she is wearing the same jacket with a wonderful new grey hat found by Treasures & Tiaras owner, as a Jane Taylor hat, gloves and a navy blue shawl to keep warm. The ride goes to the City Hall where she once again will show herself on the City Hall's balcony. Actually has the hat been seen on Zara Philips Tindal, latest in 2014. I think the grey clutch is from BOSS Hugo Boss because the similarities with the beige from BOSS are huge. Am right? I also noticed a a bracelet on her right wrist, to me it looks new. Another thing that has been commented a lot is the medal everyone of the family members were wearing. It's a medal made in honor of the Queen's 75th birthday. All members of the family was wearing one. Five years ago, on her 70th birthday, such a medal was also made. At the gala dinner last night all guest got a silver coin with the Queen's face on it, which have also been made in honor of her birthday.
Private dinner at Fredensborg Palace * * *
Finally, we got to see what Mary was wearing at this nights private dinner. Around 230 guest were invited to the dinner. They all arrived at 7 to 8 pm. local time. A little late Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary arrived to Fredensborg Palace as the last guest. Tip: Mary's father, John Donaldson, is also taken part of the dinner. I was so sure she would be wearing her red gown from her weeding, so I was surprised to see a.... BRAND NEW DRESS! A stunning silver dress with a small print on the fabric. With long tight sleeves, wide in the end. Floor-length and made so it's tight to her body. And she really has the body to wear a dress like this. At front on her chest, the dress is a little open and right in front around her neck she wore a large silver, diamond brooch. The amazing dress is from Temperley London found by one of my great reader. THANKS! Like earlier today she wore the grey suede Gianvito Rossi pumps, a new silver clutch and her 'Lotus' diamond earrings custom-made by Marianne Dulong. Her hair was in a simple but very elegant ponytail. Nail polish and lipstick were in the same amazing red color. Polished, fashionable, stylish and new!
Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace
Wednesday, April 15
In honor of Queen Margrethe's 75th birthday, 300 family, friends and Royals were invited to a gala dinner at Christiansborg Palace to celebrate the Queen. From her own family were Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie, Princess Benedikte, Princess Anne-Marie and former King Konstantin attended.
Other Royals did also attend; King Carl-Gustaf & Queen Silvia (Sweden), King Harald (Norway), King William-Alexander & Queen Máxima (The Netherlands), King Philippe & Queen Mathila (Belgium) which could celebrate his 55th birthday and King Felipe & Queen Letizia (Spain).
* 1 2
Right before the clock turned 8 pm. local time, did Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary arrive in Crown 2 (Krone 2) and a few minutes later they entered Christiansborg Palace and the entire press. I was really excited to see what she would be wearing, maybe the white Birgit Halstein dress or the pink one she wore at the coronation in the Netherlands or... wait she actually wore the pink gown from the coronation!! The dream of a dress made by tailor Birgit Hallstein. A wonderful dress in the most amazing light pink color with a lace top attached with sequins. She reminds me of the sleeping beauty (Disney, 1959), Princess Aurora, when she in the end of the movie are dancing with her Prince. So romantic!
Her hair was in a very simple curly hairdo with two pieces from the Ruby parure. Earrings and tiara are both parts of the old Ruby parure from Queen Ingrid, Queen Margrethe's mother. The bracelet and ring are made by goldsmiths from Marianne Dulong when the parure was tailored a few years ago. I'm pretty sure her pink pumps are the one from Gianvito Rossi. And of course her snake skin clutch from Judith Leiber. The blue ribbon from the Elephant Order brightened next to the color of the gown.
Gown: Birgit Hallstein Pink Lace and Sequin gown
Jewelry: The Ruby parure Ruby & Diamond parure
Shoes: Giavntito Rossi Pink Classic Pumps €440
Clutch: Judith Leiber
When all 300 guest, including Royals, the Danish Government and friends, had found their seats; Crown Prince Frederik held the opening speech. First a few sentences in english and the a more personal speech directly to his mother, the Queen. Among others, he told that he's very proud of her and think she's a really good Queen, mother and grandmother. It was a really nice speech. The reason why Frederik held it, is because Prince Henrik is ill and did not attend the dinner. We hope he will be well soon!
Mary was not the only one who wore a absolutely stunning dress/gown at the dinner. I found my top 5 of the Royal dresses from the dinner that I really like the most and of course Mary is the winner, she'll always be the star of the show to me.
1. Crown Princess Mary
2. Queen Margrethe
3. Queen Máxima
4. Princess Marie
5. Queen Anne-Marie
April 9, 1940
Thursday, April 9
75 years ago, on April 9, Denmark was occupied by Germany during World War 2. Millions of people suffered during and after the war, to commemorate all those who somehow was part of the war Crown Princess Mary attended a cermoni. It took place in 'Søgårdlejren' in Aabenraa.
Billedbladet. dk 1
I think it's remarkable that Mary takes the time to commemorate Denmark's ancestors. We all have ancestors how has experienced the war. The day is an important part of our history and it means a lot to many Danes to remember the day that changed the country also subsequently. It makes me prove to have a Crown Princess who thinks of others. Not many things bring the Danes together but a historical day like this does such as the Royal family. The day also reminds us all that we live in a more or less peaceful world.
She showed up really appropriately dressed in black and grey. For me it looks like an old reused coat,  with some kind of embroidered flower pattern. Some kind of jacquard pattern. I was right about the coat; it is a recycled, worn at the time when she was pregnant with Princess Isabella in 2007 and at a reburial of Queen Dagmar. At the opening of the Parliament in 2009 Mary wore the exact same coat with the hat!!  Thanks to a good friend of mine you get two events with her wearing it. HEREHERE and HERE(Look forward to a future CP Mary Obsession post, she also participates!).
And then the amazing grey hat! I do not know if it was made asymmetric to be on the side of her head, but to me it looks VERY polished. Milliner Susanne Juul might be the creator.  Her feat was put into a pair of light grey, suede pumps with I suggested comes from Gianvito Rossi, because of the style. Every designer, also shoe and jewelry designer, have their own style and this is so much Rossi's style. Then there is her patent grey clutch, for me it looks like Prada. Then there is her little brooch from the Danish designer Elise Gug. I could be wrong on everything.
Gala Performane in Aarhus
Wednesday, April 08
After an entire day in Aarhus with a carriage ride, dinner and balcony scene Queen Margrethe with her husband attended a gala performance in the Music Hall of Aarhus. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown  Princess Mary - their two children Prince Christian and Princess Isabella. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie - Joachim's first two children Prince Nicolai and Prince Felix did also attend.
I watch half of the show and the Queen were congratulated so many times by the performer; singers and stand-up comedians etc. I think all of them had a great evening.
* 1 1
The first word that come to my mind. Dressed in a recycled Prada gown from Fall/Winter 2004/2005 Ready-To-Wear , Mary really showed that it's possible to use what you have in your wardrobe and not buy new all the time. I know that many of you like when she wears the same clothes more then once, including me, to see how she create a new look with a new hairdo or another pair of shoes. This dress has been use so many times and every single time she manage to get a new 'expression'. I admire how she do it. Another thing that came to me when I saw the first few pictures from the evening was, how absolutely stylish and well-dresses she is. Of course you never ask a woman her age, even though we all know how old she is (43), Mary uses her mature age with all its possibilities. I'm half her age but I really want to dress like her when I get to her age, she's so inspiring.
Not only Mary was dresses for a night with music and entertainment, the rest of the family looked so handsome. Frederik and Christian wore a classic black suit and a butterfly. Christian wears it just as good as his father does. His sister, Isabella, was wearing a cute lilac colored sleeveless dress.
All over the internet; blogs, forums, sites, articles etc. people are going crazy about her new (old/new?) necklace. We still don't know if it is a brand new one or one she might inherited from maybe her mother-in-law. Think we are many who would like to find out. I also love to see her wear new jewelry, especially when it could be inherited. Once and for all I have to give my expression on the necklace being her wedding tiara. If it has been under serious changing, yes it could be the same. I really doubt. For me there is absolutely no comparison at all. To you how watched the broadcast, I know that they said it was her wedding tiara; they have no clue what they are talking about ;) it turns out to be the same, I admit my mistake entirely.
Actually, I'm more excited of her hair - don't ask why. My eyes was drawn to her stunning hairdo. The way the hair was made did everything good to her look. So of course I am making a little 'Royal Style' for you with her hair!
Her hairdo is the so easy to make, sometimes it's more easy said then done but this time I really mean it. (Again I fall in love in a hairdo that includes curls!) First you curl your hair, with the curls you like the most. Mary's are a medium size curl. Second, you take a little section of hair at front - next to your ears, and make a soft twist or two and each side. Attach the small section of hair with a bobby pin, right above the ear. Finish with some hairspray and you're done! The perfect look for everyday and evening. Good luck!
Celebration of Queen Margrethe!
Wednesday, April 8th
On April 16, Queen Margrethe celebrate her 75th birthday, a day the Danes really want to celebrate. It all started with a carriage ride through Aarhus city, then a dinner at Aarhus town  all and next she and her family appeared on the balcony - Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie.
What a great start to a week with plenty of events! The Danes really knows how to celebrate a Queen's birthday! With no doubt Mary caught my attention right away (!) with her white dress and the shiny silver/creamy long coat. Look at the pictures of her in the same silver lurex coat from New York 2011. According to Billed Bladet this coat is created by tailor Birgit HallsteinWauw... and her hair looked so good in a simple but beautiful hairdo and with the black little hat, her outfit was just like in the 50s. My guess is that the hat is made by the Danish milliner Susanne Juul. Back to the dress. To find the dress haven't been easy because I'm not sure whether or it was new. It reminded me so much of this dress -think the picture was taken by Steen Brogaard and used as the official picture of her. With the help from Heaven we might have found the right dress at Paule Ka. Because she was wearing a coat we barely see the dress but if you take look at the details around the waistline I'm quite sure the two of them look very similar. Thank you so much Heaven to let me know about your findings! It would be the first time, we know of, to see Mary in clothes from Paule Ka.
One more thing; take a look at the pictures and see that little Princess Isabella also had a bouquet (?!) just like her mom. So sweet!
Besides the black hat, she wore a tiny black belt as well, her SAND pumps and one of her most used clutched. The clutch is only one of many, she owns it in several colors and my biggest wish is to find them. So far, nothing. Another thing I really like about her outfit is the jewelry. First of all she's wearing her little Sapphire blue brooch given by her mother-in-law when she gave birth to her oldest son, Prince Christian. Queen Margrethe have inherited it from her own mother, Queen Ingrid. I'm sure many of you like the history that belongs to these old jewelry as much as I do, to you who want to read more about the brooch take a look at my post here. Take a look at the post and dream away in the story of her blue Sapphire brooch! The earrings we all know are from Ole Lynggaard. Recently worn much by her. In my opinion, the most amazing collection ever made.
It gets much more exciting, because tomorrow I'll make the post from the gala performance in Music Hall Aarhus. We saw reused gowns and new jewellery. Looking forward to see the post? I look forward to share it all with you!
The Crown Princess Mary obsession #3
Now it is time again! Mary has more then just a ‘few’ followers in Denmark and I am so lucky to have some of the best in the world reading my blog. The most kind, extraordinary and dedicated followers. Something a blogger can only wish for. You have given me the chance to tell your stories and for that I am very honored. I can’t thank you enough for participating. This time we get to hear the story from Pline. Make her feel special for sharing her story with us!
So, Pline tell us how it all started and your first 'meeting' with the royal family?
“It has been, I think, 4 years I have been following Mary and her family. I remember the first time I saw her in a magazine from when then twins were christened {April 14, 2011}” Pline introduces her passion for Crown Princess Mary with these two simple phrases.
After a while she found out that Mary was much more then just a pretty girl in a magazine. Mary made her aware of what 'fashion' real means: “When I knew her better, I admitted that her style was very unique. Her stylist is pretty amazing. Before I got to knew her, I didn't care about what I was wearing but with her sense of fashion and style she gave me the opportunity to be a little bit more well-dressed. I have to say, she’s definitely a source of inspiration to me!” I think Pline got as obsessed by Mary’s wonderful taste in clothes as we all did. When she became the Crown Princess of Denmark she chose, as one of the few princesses, to hire a stylist. In an interview Mary once said that style and fashion were not something that bothered her that much and actually she didn’t knew her own style yet. That’s why she needed a stylist. Now Mary teaches all of us how to dress!
If you should share anything with Style of Mary's reader, what would that be?
In the mail I received from Pline she send me: “…some pictures of Mary where” she thinks “…she is on the top of her game!” And of course you get to see them as well.
Have you ever thought of visiting Denmark?
One thing many of you want, is to visit Denmark, which makes me so happy! To see some of the castles and museums we have, Pline did: “2 years ago I went to Denmark and I visited Copenhagen”
I’m always interessted in how you find my blog and hear about the experience you get when you visit it, Pline actually expressed how she found Styleofmary “…I discovered your website thanks to Now, I check yours almost every day!” These words makes me most thrilled person in the world, the best is to know that my readers like the blog.
…the end…
This trip was all about mix and match with some very simple pieces. On the third and last day in Japan Mary actually only changed her dress when attended dinner in the evening. We are heading the spring and summer time which means bright colors, pastel and dresse without tights. The trend everyone loves this summer is the sky blue/ice blue color and at the third day Mary wore a new dress in exact color! According to Billed Bladet is the dress custom-made by Birgit Hallstein. I actually also make sense because at the fashion show 'Mode Gakuen College of Fashion & Design' his latest collection was a part of the show.
In the most elegant way she turn a blue dress into an wonderful, modern and classic outfit. She did it with some stunning accessories.
In her ears she wore ‘Winter Frost’ earrings created by Ole Lynggaard, we have seen them once before when King William-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited Denmark a few weeks ago. She’s also the owner of other earrings from the same collection. For me this is one of the best collection Lynggard makes, I’m so impressed of the design with the diamonds! Her hair-do showed her beautiful face and gave attention to the earrings – really great. With the machting suede pumps and clutch the look was complete. In the first post from this visit I suggested that her shoes is from Gianvito Rossi.
When attending the dinner with her husband the only thing she changes was the dress, to a purple reused dress which has been identified by Heaven as Prada. Do you think the grey suede accessory suited the blue or purple dress the best way? For me it looked so feminine with the ice blue dress and so modern in the other combination. Both worked so well. Her black pearl bracelet is of course the one from the goldsmith Marianne Dulong. Let us for a moment think back on the entire trip, I absolutely love how she has used the different parts in different ways. Love it! It is always exciting for us to see her wear the same thing several times and she has certainly done on this trip.
